Summer 2026 Secondary Mathematics Conference

Talk moves are purposeful teacher prompts and facilitation strategies that promote student-to-student interaction, clarify thinking, and elevate mathematical discourse. In this session, participants will examine and practice talk moves aligned to the P³ Mathematics Framework to strengthen academic discourse, position students as mathematical thinkers, and support sensemaking through shared reasoning and justification.

Simply allowing students to work with a partner or in a group does not always result in authentic collaboration. Participants will learn about the essential elements of true teamwork in the math classroom and leave with a ready-to-use digital toolkit of sample activities that model exceptional collaborative practice.
